Japanese Culture Week, Caracas

Yesterday was the first day of the local Japanese Culture Week. Here are a few pictures I managed to take there.

Sloth - cont.

The Sloth is still here. After a long nap it woke up for a short time at the beginning of the night, giving me the opportunity to attempt a few shots.

Sloth (Bradypus variegatus)

A big suprise awaited me this morning: perched in one of the propertie's trees was a sloth!!

The first pictures were taken around 9:30am. The sloth was quiet then, probably still napping after an arduous trip over to that particular tree.

The next set of pictures was taken between 10 and 10:40: time for breakfast. At least for the Sloth ...

Last set of pictures (for now): taken at around 12:20. The sloth was trying to move on to another tree without touching ground, but unsuccessfully, as even the closest one was out of reach.

Just playing around today..

La Estancia, Feb. 17th

I went to La Estancia, here in Caracas, this Sunday. It was a very lazy sunday it seems. Not much activity.

Not a very frequent sight: someone reading!

Local wildlife..

Taking a rest.. it wasn't even noon!
